Sarband's repertoire creates a deeper consciousness for cultural distinctions, for the patterns which determine
our perception of the Other and the Foreign. With careful research and sophisticated dramaturgical decisions, artistic director and musicologist Vladimir Ivanoff,highlight the connecting threads between Orient and Occident, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, past cultures and present time. Sarband is noted for its collaborative
projects with numerous artists, amongst them:

King's Singers, Concerto Köln, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Dresdner Philharmonie, Mystère des Voix Bulgares, RIAS Chamber Choir, Dominique Horwitz, NDR Radio Choir, Schleswig-Holstein Festival Choir, Osnabrück Youth Choir,  Dorothee Oberlinger, Armonico Tributo Austria, Chorus Sine Nomine.

Ensemble Sarband has a strong interest in creating
joint projects with orchestras, choirs, chamber music
ensembles, theatre and dance companies.
